Why does my grill temperature spike during startup?
Each time you start your grill, it goes through a normal ignition process: During this process, you may notice a temporary temperature spike. This is normal. The controller (PID system) receives the temperature data and automatically adjusts the auger motor’s on/off cycle to bring the grill back to your set temperature. The grill cannot instantly stabilize at the exact temperature as soon as the flame ignites, but the PID controller quickly balances the feed rate to maintain consistent heat for cooking.
